I often see postings like this:
Hi! I am a highschool student and want to know all about cold fusion.
Where do I start?
There is a large literature on this subject. Probably the best way
is to start with the two books
- E. Mallove "Fire From Ice"
- F. Close "Too Hot to Handle".
These books take opposite points of view and describe the early history
very well, as well as the technical aspects. They are a little dated by
now, although much of the cold fusion story took place back then. For a more
up-to-date view, go on to read
- C. G. Beaudette "Excess Heat. Why Cold Fusion Research Prevailed".
- E. Storms "The Science of Low Energy Nuclear Reactions"
- R. L. Park "Voodoo Science. The Road from Foolishness to Fraud".
- again, taking opposite points of view (Beaudette and Storms positive,
Park very negative).
Details (publishers etc, and a short abstract) of all these can be found
in the file Books.
If you want still more, start browsing through these web pages. There
are other books, for example, and around 1400+ scientific papers for
the intrepid. There are archives at the LENR site (google it).
